As you guys might have realized, I have not been able to publish as much as I could before while I was on holidays. Additionally, the content that I have been publishing has not been as high of quality as some of the other posts.
But as I’ve already shared in my first blog post, this is a blog to document my journey as a student-entrepreneur.
So here are some updates:
At the time of writing this post, I’m in the 4th week of my 2nd year of school.
Studies-wise, I’m lagging behind. Year 2 of school, more data, less coding. More math, less networking, and more theory, less designing. I’m finally learning modules related to my diploma (associates degree in America I think) – Business Intelligence & Analytics. However, in all honesty, I’ve fallen in love with programming and having a shift in the types of projects that I’ll be focusing on this year, that’s gonna take a little getting used to.
Additionally, I’m so lost in my statistics module. We’re learning advanced statistical concepts and they lost me at the second lesson. I really need a catch up on my studies but due to my other work (which I’ll talk about next). I can’t seem to find the time to study. Not to worry though, I believe I can catch up on my studies real soon. Afterall my goal is to maintain my current GPA – 3.53. (If anyone of you can help, please let me know.)
Business-wise, things have been starting to take off a little. After all that part-time work shifts to earn some capital, I’ve managed to get some capital to start my eCommerce business. In which, I’ve placed the last on my priority list though. For my eCommerce business, I’ll be doing the dropshipping-Shopify-Oberlo business model and have managed to find my niche too. All I’m having to do now is import my products, build my website and start marketing.
In case you don’t already know too, I’m starting my own streetwear brand, ODYSEE. Good news is, just yesterday, the samples that I got from the US have arrived and I’m satisfied with them. My dad hats stocks have also arrived. All I’m to do next is to start producing content with my media team and we are a step closer to launch.
The app that I’m developing with my buddy has been making improvements as well. I’ve consulted a skillful and nice UI/UX Design teacher in my school to work with us on our prototype. She not only helped out in our design, she also helped out with improving the business of our application. This has lead to us continuing our hustle on both the business-research and design.
Side-note, if you’re interested, do put your details in here. Once we launch, we will send you a code for your purchase and any additional news when we launch as well.
Lastly, I’ve been appointed as the president of my school’s entrepreneurship club. Where I will be in charge of taking this club to the next level to the best of my ability. I’ve never lead such a thing before but I’m sure I’ll be able to learn on the job and do it well with a team of talented people. This will definitely be a good experience for me.
Do follow us on Instagram too: @tpec_enspire – We will be posting all things entrepreneurship, our events, and updates.
With that, a typical schedule for my week looks a little like this: (Note this week I didn’t have classes so my typical week will include my class times)
Having 9 meetings in one week too. Never have I had such many meetings before. Is this what it means to do business? Hahaha… On the bright side, I also have two birthday celebrations for two of my closest friends. Plus my one my best friend’s graduation ceremony.
Essentially, I “run” three businesses, run a business club, managing this blog where I can, managing studies, managing a social life, taking care of my health, and fitting time with family. All of that on 6 hours of sleep a night. But though I sure am working hard, I make sure I see the fun in what I’m doing too.
Some of you are also going through some tough times maybe, in fact, tougher than what I’m doing now. But keep hustling, don’t give up and stay strong. Shit’s tough, but it’ll all be worth it in the end guys. Just remember your vision. #stayhustlingmyfriends
Difficult things aren’t easy, but they’re worth it.
